Orgasmic Beauty

by Sarah-Jane

Orgasm is one of NARS most popular shades. It’s already available in a blusher and in the NARS Multiple, a creamy stick that can be used all over the face and body. And from February 16th it will be available exclusively in Space NK in the new illuminator form. It’s a light weight sheer liquid that you can apply all over the face and body or add some to your foundation to give it an extra radiance and glow. It truly is orgasmic.

The night time gene cream

by Sarah-Jane

You’ve probably heard all about gene creams by now, but just in case here’s a brief recap. As we get older the genes in our skin slow down and stop working as efficiently. That’s when the wrinkles and sagging sets in. Gene creams contain specific ingredients that target the genes and get them working as hard as they did when we were younger. The latest gene cream to hit the market is from Biotherm and is called Skin Vivo Nuit, ₤38 (department stores and Boots). It is the night cream to accompany the best-selling day cream version. Not only does it contain all the uber scientific ingredients such as Thermal Plankton and Reverserol that deal with the anti-ageing side of things but it also contains Lavender and Lily of the Valley which will help you get to sleep. Night night.

The all-in-one cleanser

by Sarah-Jane

I love hotel toiletries and years ago I was in New York and the bathroom was decked out with a brand that I had never heard of before. Being the investigative beauty journalist I am, I tried out every single product on offer and fell in love. The shampoo and conditioner left my hair looking really shiny and feeling soft, the shower gel was really fruity without being sickly and the moisturiser left my skin feeling like satin all day. I managed to sneak home as many bottles as I could get maid service to give me and used them sparingly so that they would last forever. So imagine how happy I was when London department store, Liberty’s started stocking this magical New York brand, Malin + Goetz. The product that I always recommend to people who haven’t tried it before is the Grapefruit Face Cleanser, ₤24. It triples up as eye make-up remover, cleanser and toner. If you’re a gal on the go, then this product will save you precious minutes getting ready in the morning.

Skin Nourishment

by Sarah-Jane

There are no two ways about it, I absolutely adore Jergens body moisturisers. Since they launched in the UK last year I was hooked and now that they have launched two more varieties I’m even more addicted.
There are multiple reasons I love them. Firstly they are inexpensive - at ₤4.99 (Boots) a tube I can slather myself in them without worrying that I’m wasting money. Secondly, they do exactly what I need them to - moisturise my skin instantly and keep it moisturised all day long. Finally, they offer pump formats of the moisturiser, and nothing makes post-shower moisturisation easier then the ease of a pump. The two new moisturisers that are being added to the range are Total Nourishment, filled with anti-oxidising acai berry and cranberry and Cocoa Butter which will hydrate the driest of skin and help reduce the appearance of stretch marked skin.

Deep clean

by Sarah-Jane

I’m not ashamed to admit it. My name is Sarah-Jane and I am a cleansing addict. Nothing wakes me up better than slathering cleanser all over my face and washing it off. And nothing finished off my day then taking off all my make-up and going to bed with squeaky clean skin. So I was more than just a little excited when two new cleansers from Neutrogena, deep clean oil-free cleansing lotion, ₤3.49 and deep clean wipes, ₤2.99 (available nationwide) landed on my desk. They both belong to the already existing deep clean range and remove all your make-up quickly and easily. They both have an oil-free formula so it won’t clog up your skin, perfect if you have a slightly oily and spotty complexion.

Fruity Foundation

by Sarah-Jane

You might not think that fruit and foundation mix, but say hello to the brand new Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation, ₤10.99 (available nationwide) that is filled with no less than four different fruit ingredients to not only deliver amazing coverage but to boost the radiance of your skin day after day. The ingredients read like a fruit punch mix. It starts with apricot extract which gives skin a dewy glow. Next on this list is ginger which is well known for its energy boosting qualities. Apple is in there as well, apple is packed with anti-oxidant ingredients that help the skin looking young and finally melon which makes sure there is plenty of moisture in the skin. All these ingredients combined mean that your skin is being nourished from the outside as well as looking perfectly flawless. There are 8 shades to choose from so there’s bound to be one to suit you.

Sheer Genius

by Sarah-Jane

This month sees the launch of Vaseline’s brand new body lotion, Sheer Infusion, ₤4.99 (Boots). This light-weight lotion packs a heavy moisturisation punch and sinks deeper into the skin than any other moisturiser I’ve ever tried, and that’s saying something! It is so quick to absorb into the skin that you’re not left with any sticky feeling. It comes in three different scents, my personal favourite is Vitamin Burst. It’s a budget buy that has premium price results.
