Hot new skincare alert!

by Sarah-Jane

The very first facial I ever had was at the fabulous bliss spa in London and I have been hooked on their products ever since. The newest offering to arrive on my beauty desk was the triple oxygen + C energizing cream, ₤45 and goodness, gracious me is it fantastic. The aim of the cream is to give your skin that perfectly hydrated look you have when you’ve just stepped out of the shower, and the combination of pure oxygen and vitamin c that is diffused throughout the cream does just that. I’ve been using it day and night for two weeks now and my skin looks truly revitalised and fresh. It doesn’t hit the shelves until April so ladies put a note on your iPhone for April 1st and get ready to order from www.blisslondon.co.uk.

Pocket size perfume

by Sarah-Jane

The perfume Juliette Has a Gun has quite an impressive back story. It was created by Romano Ricci, the great grandson of Nina Ricci – the fashion designer - and inspired by the legendary Shakespearian heroine, Juliet. So it had quite a lot to live up to, thankfully it does. There are three varieties of the scent. Miss Charming is fruity and floral, Lady Vengeance is more seductive and musky and Citizen Queen has more of an old-fashion feel to it. All three scents are now available for a limited time in a bullet shaped atomizer with four refills. It is the perfect size for popping in your handbag. Lady Vengeance and Miss Charming each cost ₤59 and Citizen Queen costs ₤69 and they are available from all good perfume retailers.

Squeaky clean

by Sarah-Jane

There’s nothing more therapeutic for me than starting and finishing the day by slathering my face with cleanser and washing it off with warm water. Somehow the same act manages to wake me up and relax me ready for bed. My latest cleansing discovery has been Soap & Glory’s brand new Hot Cloth Cleanser, ₤9 (Boots) a fantastic cleanser that you can almost feel working its way through all the grime and getting right to the bottom of your pores and giving a good old spring clean. It comes with a muslin cloth that gently wipes it all away as well as providing your skin with a little exfoliation.

I’m a klutz in the kitchen, there’s no two ways about it. Burning and scalding myself is part of my cuisine repertoire. I had resigned myself to be forever covered in little red burn marks and pink scars all over my hands and arms until I found Re-Gen Oil, ₤3.99 (Asda).
This magical oil contains a clever ingredient called PCL liquid which gets the skin renewing and repairing itself as well as more natural and well-known skin soothing ingredients such as Lavender and Calendula. Unlike many other body oils it’s not greasy and gets absorbed instantly so you can keep reapplying it sporadically throughout the day, which is what I did and within 2 weeks a scar from an overly aggressive frying pan had completely disappeared. It also works a treat on spots and stretch marks. Try it now.

Scent of a Princess

by Sarah-Jane

The newest addition to the Vera Wang Princess range of perfumes is Glam Princess and it’s actually my favourite of all three. It’s slightly fruitier than the others and I love the smell of orange blossom that comes through. Glam Princess is limited edition so it won’t be around for long so head to your nearest department store to get yours. It costs ₤34 for 30ml.

Beautiful Butterfly

by Sarah-Jane

These gorgeous new lip glosses from Paul & Joe are the perfect thing to bring a bit of springtime into your dreary January. There are three shades to choose from and you can either wear the surrounding colour or just dip into the butterfly shaped colour in the centre. Or what I love to do is use a lip brush, gently mix the two together, slather over my lips and mwah! I’m ready to gloss and go. My favourite shade is Primrose, a pink gloss with a bright fuchsia pink butterfly in the centre. They are £18 each and available from Fenwick and Harrods.

Tendril TLC

by Sarah-Jane

I don’t know about you but after weeks of back-combing, over-straightening and ott tousling, my hair is in dire need of some tlc. That’s why every week in January I set aside 10 minutes dedicated to some serious SOS hair repair in the shape of an intensive conditioning treatment.

If you’ve got fine blonde hair then you can’t go wrong with Redken Silk Fuel, ₤15.35. Each sachet contains just the right amount to slather over your locks and won’t leave your fine hair look limp and heavy afterwards, like so many others.

If you colour your hair to an inch of its life then you need Paul Mitchell Color Protect Reconstructive Treatment, ₤10.95 (0845 659 0012), in your life. It’s filled with ultra moisturizing ingredients such as Jojoba and Aloe and leaves your hair looking shiny and healthy after just 10 minutes.

If time is of the essence for you and you can’t spare 10 mins then Lee Stafford Hotshots 2 minute miracle, ₤6.99 (Boots), is a dream come true. Apply it on damp hair after you have shampooed, you’ll instantly feel it warm up, leave it on for 2 minutes, rinse, condition and you’re done! A beautiful barnet in no time.
